What we do
Two things, treated as one job. We build websites, and we do the search work that makes them findable: in Google, and in the assistants people now ask for recommendations.
Splitting those across two suppliers is how businesses end up with a site that reads beautifully and cannot be found, or one that ranks and persuades nobody who arrives. The words and the engineering answer to each other, so they are written by the same hands.
Who leads it
Alex Harvey
Founder and lead engineer
BSc Computing, with a background in IT management before moving into search and web engineering. Based in Canterbury.
Alex sets the search strategy, writes the copy and builds the sites. That is deliberate rather than a limitation: it is the reason a decision made in week one is still understood in month six.
How we work
A senior engineer leads your project from the first conversation to launch. The person who sets the strategy is the person who builds it and the person who answers your email about it later. More on how that works.
We use modern automation and development tools for research, component scaffolding and testing. That clears away repetitive groundwork. The senior lead directs the strategy, writes the copy and code, and stays accountable for what ships.
We take a small number of builds at a time and say when we are full, rather than accepting work and queueing it quietly.
What we will not do
Stated plainly, because it is easier to check than to claim
- We will not promise a position in search. Nobody honestly can. We take responsibility for the technical foundation and the words, and we say so in writing.
- We will not recommend a new website that is not needed. The audit is allowed to conclude that your site is worth keeping, and when it does, it says so and stops there.
- We will not take work we are the wrong fit for. If your clients arrive by tender or trade relationship rather than by searching, search work will not move much, and we would rather say that before an invoice than after.
Where we are
Canterbury, Kent. We work in person across Kent and remotely with clients anywhere. Most of our work is with therapy and clinical practices, solicitors, accountants and consultancies, which is where the shape fits rather than a rule about who we accept.
