Can I see something you’ve built?

The Pickle Jar Therapy, a private practice in Canterbury. More Than Normal built and launched their site in 2025 and has run search for it ever since, rebuilding it in August 2026. The website and search work drove a vast improvement in client enquiries, establishing search as the practice's primary source of new intake.

What the practice needed

A private therapy practice taking its own bookings, in a city with a lot of therapists and a lot of directories. The problem was not the quality of the work. It was that somebody looking for help in Canterbury had no way to tell one practice from another, and the directories were taking the enquiry before the practice ever saw it.

Every figure has a source and a date beside it, because a number without either is just a claim. The speed scores are lab measurements you can reproduce: see the PageSpeed result.

“A clear, welcoming website that truly reflects our values.”

What was actually built

IncludedWhat that meant here
Search researchWhat people in Canterbury actually type when looking for a therapist, and which of those the directories already owned
CopyWritten for the practice, within what a therapist is permitted to claim
Design and buildStatic site, no content management system to maintain
Enquiry journeyThree routes in, including one for people who need urgent help
Technical search setupStructured data, sitemap, Google Business Profile
OwnershipAll code, content and design assets, from day one

What this does not prove

  • One practice is not a pattern. This is a single client in a single sector. It shows what happened once, not what will happen for you.
  • Enquiries are never single channel. Word of mouth, professional referrals and directory listings all contributed alongside the site. The figure counts people who arrived via a website touchpoint, not people the website created.
  • We cannot promise a position in search. Nobody honestly can. What we take responsibility for is the technical foundation and the words.

Why there is only one case study here

Because there is only one we can show properly, with the client’s agreement and with figures we can source. We would rather publish one that stands up to being checked than five that do not.

If you want to know whether the same approach would work for you, the audit answers that before you commit to anything.
